Larry Day – Producer
Larry Day has more than 35 years of experience in film and television. He has created film and television series, documentaries and dramas for broadcasters across North America with syndication in more than 70 countries around the world.
Larry’s documentary work includes producing and co-directing Playing with Fire, a feature-length film about Theo Fleury for HBO Canada that won positive reviews at Hot Docs in Toronto. Larry also produced @nenshi4mayor, a behind-the-scenes account of how Calgary’s Naheed Nenshi upset the favorites to become North America’s first big-city Muslim mayor. He has written and directed two documentaries for CTV’s W5. Murder For Love and Highway to Murder were the highest rated programs in W5’s 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 seasons and Larry recently completed his third documentary for CTV with Lloyd Robertson. Larry’s other recent documentary projects include two episodes of the animal doc series Wild Obsession for Animal Planet; Wild Horses of the Canadian Rockies for Animal Planet; Back in the Saddle: Faceoff with The Flood, the story of rebuilding the Saddledome after Alberta’s 2013 floods for Rogers Sportsnet; and Ties That Bind for Rogers and Omni Television. He has produced 27 Biographies for A&E, documentaries on W. P. Kinsella and Ian Tyson for Bravo, Jann Arden for CTV, an eight-hour series on Bollywood for Omni and a documentary on climate change for Global. Two of his short films played at the Vancouver Olympics.
Larry produced the made-for-television drama In a World Created By a Drunken God for APTN. It was directed by John Hazlett (These Girls) and nominated for three Gemini Awards: Best TV Movie, Best Actor and Best Editing. The film premiered at the Calgary International Film Festival. It opened the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco — where it won the Best Actor award. It also opened the Dreamspeakers Film Festival in Edmonton and was named Best Feature Film at the World Indigenous Film Awards.
Larry composes music for his films and has won two SOCAN awards. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan, a Bachelor of Education from University of Regina and a Bachelor of journalism Honours from Carlton University.
Sheila Rae – Production Manager
Sheila Rae has worked in the television industry in Canada, the US and internationally in China. Her 25 years of TV experience cover a wide range of roles including script writing, researching, on camera reporting and hosting, show-running, directing, field producing, development, line producing, story editing and post production supervision. Her credits include producing the documentary series Canadian Players for Movie Central, senior writer and producer of 27 episodes of A&E’s Biography, showrunner for 60 episodes of Celebrity Style Story for E! Canada and TV Guide Network, Supervising Producer of Best In Chow for CMT Canada and Cooking Channel in the US, and Supervising Producer of Animal Planet’s documentary adventure series Wild Obsession and Theo Fleury’s Playing With Fire for HBO Canada. She lived and worked in Beijing, China for 5 years where she hosted and produced a weekly travel and culture show for CCTV China Through Foreigners’ Eyes.
Sheila has also supervised and produced video projects for many corporate clients including The City of Calgary, The Calgary Public Library, Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta, Alberta Film, Mount Royal University, The Calgary Women’s Shelter, The Haskayne School of Business, Bank of Montreal and Cineplex. Sheila has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calgary and a broadcasting diploma from Mount Royal University. She is a member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
Buddy Day – Showrunner/Director
Buddy Day has travelled throughout North America as the showrunner and director of the food adventure series Best in Chow for CMT Canada and Cooking Channel in the US. He was also director and showrunner for two seasons of Wild Obsession for Animal Planet. He is currently directing the feature-length documentary The Salvation of Todd Bentley for Superchannel. His previous credits include producing 26 episodes of World of Hurt with Rowdy Roddy Piper, showrunner and director of The Big Pitch, Cultureville and Culture Secrets for CBC Alberta, and writer/producer of The Screaming Room for Corus and The Most Amazing on Rogers.
Buddy is also the creative mind and director of projects for corporate clients including Athabasca University, The Calgary Public Library, The Alberta Federation of Co-Ops, Wood-Buffalo Municipal District, Stewart Weir, St. Mary’s University and Bayer CropScience. He has a Bachelor of Nursing and Health Studies (BN) from Mount Royal University, and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma of Counseling Psychology from the Graduate Centre for Applied Psychology at Athabasca University.
Nathanial Harper – Director of Photography
Nathanial has travelled the world capturing visually engaging content for broadcast and online productions in the US and Canada. He recently completed three episodes of Wild Obsession for Animal Planet, where he perfected his underwater skills capturing footage of great white sharks in the Pacific and tracked down alligators in the Florida Everglades. In addition to completing 25 episodes of Best in Chow for CMT Canada and Cooking Channel in the US, Nate’s documentary credits as DOP include the Ties that Bind: Leah’s Story for Omni, Living History at Heritage Park for CBC, Seeding Success: 100 Years of Olds College for CTV2, and the feature-length The Salvation of Todd Bentley for Superchannel. Nate’s past credits include Swamp’d for Animal Planet, Oddities for the Science Channel, Cajun Pawn Stars for History Channel, American Restoration for History, What the Sell? For TLC and Moving In for MTV.
Nathanial has also field-produced content for NFL.com, Pawn Stars on History and the WWE. He has a Bachelors Degree in Film and Television from Bond University.
Chuck Dickens – Art Director/Post Production Editor
Chuck brings his creative and artistic talents to many of Pyramids projects as Art Director and Post Production Editor. Chuck has more than 15 years experience in television where he has done award-winning commercial and promotions work for Family Channel, Teletoon and Movie Central. His credits with Pyramid Productions include the AMPIA Award-winning wildlife adventure series Wild Obsession for Animal Planet; more than two dozen critically acclaimed A&E Biographies; and documentary work including Back in the Saddle for Rogers Sportsnet; @Nenshi4mayor for Omni — which screened at the New York Film Festival — Ties That Bind for Omni television, and three episodes of W5 for CTV.
Chuck has taken seminars around the world from elite editors and artists in all disciplines of film and video and spends most of his free time pursuing his artistic passions. He has a degree in Digital Media and Design from Grant MacEwan University.
Regan Kuemper – Post Production Audio
Regan has toured across North America providing production audio for many entertainers including Terri Clark, Sam Roberts, The Pink Floyd Experience, Sum 41, Nelly Furtado and Fred Penner. He brought that experience to the world of film and television a decade ago on a wide variety of project including TV series, documentaries, commercials, corporate productions and films. His recent credits include Playing With Fire: The Theo Fleury Story for HBO Canada, Wild Obsession for Animal Planet, Jann Arden: Free for Bravo!, Best in Chow for Cooking Channel US and CMT Canada and three episodes of CTV’s award winning docu-series W5.
Regan has a diploma in Audio Engineering and Production from the Recording Arts Program of Canada. He is a member of the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN).
